School Blazers

Course Overview

Success in the English GCSEs goes beyond simply knowing the correct information; it’s what you do with your knowledge that counts. That’s why School Blazers lessons target the skills of critical thinking and personal expression, with practical and specific guidance on how to apply those skills to GCSE exam questions.

School Blazers lessons are delivered by fully qualified secondary school teachers, with experience working both in schools and as examiners for major exam boards. We combine a mix of group and individual learning activities to ensure students get the most out of each session.

Group sessions last 45 minutes, with a maximum of 10 students per group, focusing on teaching and practising the key skills that are integral to success in the GCSE. Every session ends with a homework assignment in the form of an exam-style practice question. Students then have an individual online live-marking session with their teacher, in which they look closely at the homework together, identifying areas of success and specific targets for improvement.

School Blazers lessons and homework assignments are designed to prepare students specifically for AQA, Edexcel, OCR, Eduqas/WJEC, and CCEA exam boards, and cover both the English Literature and English Language GCSE exams.
